Description
Lu-Mi-Num Bicycle French Advertising Poster (Kossuth, Paris, France, 1890s). Around 1893, the St. Louis Refrigerator and Wooden Gutter Company (later the St. Louis Aluminum Casting Company) introduced the Lu-Mi-Num bicycle frame that was cast hollow in one piece. Later in the 1890s, Cycles Aluminium of France bought the rights to the Lu-Mi-Num. Artist Charles Tichon was hired to illustrate this beautiful stone litho tribute to the early,"butterfly" light-weight bicycle frame, effortlessly hoisted in one hand by a smartly dressed Parisian woman.
