Description
Fourche de Loma Bicycle Forks Poster (Kossuth & Cie., c. 1890's). Advertising Poster from the late 1800's, cycling was gaining popularity as, not only a convenient mode of travel but, as a means of sporting activity. Many bicycle companies began using advertising to market their products to the masses. This lively stone litho shows two cyclists conversing on a French roadway with one proclaiming, "Yes, but I have a Loma fork," essentially bragging to the other cyclist that his de Loma bike frame is superior. As portrayed by Spanish visual artist, Pedro Ribera (1867-1932), this gorgeous litho displays warm colors and a vintage sense of humor.
