Description
A dashing mustachioed cyclist is obviously trying to seduce a young lady, who, for the time being, is more interested in enjoying her drink. Lox was a brand of wine (the most famous among the genre being Vin Mariani), fortified with mildly narcotic extracts of Coca or Kola Nut, which gave the drink a "tonic" effect. An exquisite image. Georges Meunier (1869-1942) was one of Cheret's most accomplished disciples working under the master at the Chaix printing house.
